This is the first stop in Texas. The picture is of a bunch of Latino kids in soccer practice adjacent to the train station. It is probably fitting for the new Texas that they say is turning brown and blue. Some characters on the train today. A woman who was loudly protesting that the stop at Lafayette, LA was not a "smoke stop". She was having a really hard time going more than an hour with a smoke, so she announced to people in the car that she was going to have her smoke anyway and went to the bathroom and did. The conductors jumped all over her and told her they were going to let her stay on but that if it happened again she would be thrown off. She then had an argument with her boyfriend about it. Another woman got on in a small town stop in Louisiana and when the conductor asked for her ticket, she didn't have one. She gave him $20 but he told her it was $48. She didn't have enough money, so after an argument he let her pay the "internet" rate which was $36. Both women looked to have some substance issues going on and both were probably in their 50's although it was hard to tell because they both looked to have a lot of "hard miles" on them.
