Ok, so we're finally caught up.  It has taken a while, three meals spread over two days in the lovely Quinault River Village Internet Cafe.  Thanks again!  We've actually spent two days here in beautiful Lake Quinault, seeing the sights, jumping (Dave) and wading (MC) in the cool waters of this fresh water lake.  We are surrounded by temperate rain forest, lots of Douglas fir (some are 1000 years old), western red ceder, spruce and hemlock.  We caught a glimpse of a herd (?) of elk on the way to the lake and MC thinks she saw an eagle.  Dave thinks she saw a pigeon.   This place is magnificent.  Words can't describe.

We ran back into the "5 old guys" who we will from now on refer to as the "5 bobs" as they are all towing "BOB" trailers.  We spent a lovely evening with them, drinking beers and swapping stories over the fire.  MC asks, where are the ladies?  Dave says, off finding husbands like they should be.

We have got to get out of here.  You should see the straw Dave has been anxiously chewing on all morning.  More to come later....  just a warning, it probably will not be day by day.  That just takes too long.

Amateur's Corner:
This is the part where we have some witty reflection. Not today.  Instead, a glimpse of future blog entries..

Gear talk: As per Spanky's request, Dave promises to bore us all with the description of bikes and gear.
Litter: What is it about taurine that makes people litter?
Food:  Will MC's metabolism reach warp speed?

Yes, we are still reading this blog! Some of us are sitting in a room with no windows and neon lights. Also there are weird swirling sounds coming from the person next to me (all day, every day). Some of us need your images and stories from life on the road. Thanks for sharing!

I will admitt we are damn lucky to not be trapped in an office, but don't be fooled, there are plenty of wierd noises coming from the RV campers next to us every night...and you should see the size of the tent...MC isn't exactly quiet in her sleep...

Do you have connections in Portland or the Newport area? I have several friends and family in Portland. My brother lives 10 miles inland from Newport and would be happy to put you up and hear some tales. Consider a warm shower and dry sleeping conditions. Contact me.
