May 21 - Piraeus
Piraeus is really Athens.  It is the port town, but only 10 min away. Unfortunately, for me, its a change cruise day - meaning a 12hr day and no onshore time.
Just to make the day a little longer, I woke up early (the Ritchie curse), put on the clown suit, and went to my favourite spot - The Observation Lounge on the 12th deck.  From there I watched us maneuver into port watching from the huge window, outside on the deck, and the simulated radar with the display of data. So many ships, so close together. Amazing how many ships are in this port. I think I even tried a Pano (we'll see if that works out)
The new cruise is a charter. It will be interesting to see what happens as the group (almost 700 guests) are in the Computer/software industry from all over the world. I think it will either be heaven or hell - not sure which yet. On first glance, the guests look a lot younger. I hope thats a good thing :-)

Computer/Software group? Reminds me of a Christmas party that was crashed because, well, that's a related field of work so why wouldn't you just wander in and make yourself at home and later end up playing piano at the piano bar?
