Well we can't believe the Aussie leg of the journey has almost finished - but guess what... yes... Max made it into the Manly Daly the day before leaving Manly! (OK she admits she had been loitering outside the offices for 30 days and nights) but for her it was worth every wasted minute to gain her own 15 minutes of fame!! Sadly they didn't really listen to what she said so her occupation is wrong, and she was leaving the next day so didn't get hounded by fans - but hey ho at least she made it into print!!
Next stop was Kate's parents where we had a lovely time. We were made to feel very welcome and we were spoiled with meals out and lots of home cooking. We met Loretta (Kate's pal) again and spent the day in Newtown being ladies that lunch. Kate purchased a pair of shoes that demand respect! Trudy bought Max a super Guru outfit - with room to grow into! Trudy was touched up and Loretta purchased drugs (legal ones from the chemist)
. We finished the day with ice-cream which was to die for! Calorie free of course!! Sadly Max didn't feel great as she had caught some Aussie bug, but with two doctors in the house knew she was in safe hands, anyway after sleeping around the clock for 2 days was soon back up on her feet just in time for the trip to the Hunter Valley and home to the McGuigun Winery (Kate's Uncle! how cool is that!). We had a great two days and busied ourselves sampling wine and watching the kangaroos chill just outside our room. Kate doubled up as a Yogi and did a very good job. Max found her Guru outfit not the best outfit to do yoga in!! Trudy was much better equipped with knickers and a top!! On our way home we called into Newcastle - which is a lot prettier than ours! - refer to photographs! The Gods have decided that Trudy will loose weight by planting a hair in her lunch - followed by a moth in her salad two days later! She is now on a liquid diet!!
Before leaving Hurstville we tried out the local RSL (of course), and Trudy sampled the expensive steak from Japan, can't remember the name, but it is the one they massage the cows every day and feed them beer - it was delicious and melted in her mouth, Max was impressed with the soup as well! (Couldn't afford steak for two!!)
After saying goodbye to Kate and her family we left Hurstville catching the train (which are two story!) through the City to Circular Quay
. From there we caught the ferry to Mosman, home of Uncle Barry (who doesn't like to be called Uncle Barry so who will now be referred to as Baz)and what a way to arrive - very pretty, very spectacular! The harbour at Mosman was as pretty as a picture postcard. Fortunately we managed to get booked on the 'Baz tour of the Mountains' and it was fab! Barry drove us around the top of the mountain range stopping at different places for a walk, twitter and a look at the views which were.... absolutely breath taking! We have had a wonderful few days with them. We hit Mosman today - Max no longers looks like a stand in for the Planet of The Apes and has been waxed and plucked from head to toe! Trudy has purchased shoes that actually fit and don't smell of Feta cheese! Both bought sparkly things from the fossil shop and then... hit the pokies at Mosman RSL and won back $179!! Tonight we are catching up with Nicola's and Gary, sharing stories and eating Betty Boobs Thia food! Yum yum!
Going to sign off now - will add a few last words before leaving Australia, but until Good day Possums!
