Woke up to a cloudless blue sky. The moon was still out above mount Aspiring range. Looking good for flying. Out to the airport for 8.45am and met up with our pilot Simon and the 2 other couples flying with us. We flew in a small ish helicopter called a "squirrel". No words can describe what we saw today, 4 countries in 4 hours!! Absolutely mind blowing.
Landed on a glacier,  flew round Mount Aspiring, out to the west coast and landed on a remote beach, saw penguins and seals, down Milford Sound, landed there for lunch, back up to see the Southerland Falls, up to the mountains again and landed on another glacier... then back to Wanaka. Lots of Lord of the Rings country.

Fab!
Glad you managed to get a helicopter flight. It sounds like it was stunning. Looking forward to seeing the photos :)
