After a good breakfast we decided to venture up to the Otago Peninsula to visit the Royal Albatross Centre....was very windy!!!. Took the tour to view them, they are massive - 3m wing span, 1m beak to tail and do they glide majestically in the wind. We also saw Shags, Fur Seals and Seagulls (Red Beak & Black Back)...a lot of wildlife, great to see them in their natural environment as well; especially as the Albatross is now endangered.
Tried to walk along beach by the centre, but didn't make it due to wind!!
Off to Wanaka tomorrow, scenery should start to change from coastal to more rural and rugged landscapes. Will go into Dunedin tonight for a meal, hopefully something a bit lighter as so far portion control has been lost...great food though : ) local beer (Speights) was very good and went down with ease.
Pics to follow when we can download them, beware Max has now taken 400 pics so far....help!!!!
