We got a late start out of our campsite after eating insta-meals--instant oatmeal and Starbucks coffee.

We headed to the East side of the Park and Dad decided to drive around the southern route so we could see a change of scenery. On the way, we saw a neat hotel called the Izaak Walton Inn. It was the first hotel built by the Great Northern Railroad, which is the company that built a lot of the big hotels out here. I liked it a lot because here was a lot of cool old train stuff, including railroad cars that you could stay in.

It turned out that going around the Park was a good idea because there was a mudslide on the Going to the Sun Road, and it closed. I hope nobody got hurt. Lucky for us we took the trip up that way yesterday and got to see how amazing it was.

We're staying at a different old hotel called the Many Glacier Hotel. It's big and has a lot of different places to explore. It's kind of noisy after being in a quiet campground for so long.

Tonight we went to the Many Glacier campground to listen to a Blackfeet Indian speaker named Eddie Heavy Runner (I don't know how he got that name). He was talking about animals and what the Native Americans learn from them. The talk was kind of boring until someone said "There's a bear!" and we all jumped up to see a big brown bear in the trees behind the speaker. Everyone got excited and 2 rangers were there to make sure there wasn't any problem. One of the rangers had a taser and said that he had been watching this same bear make his way around the area all day.

On the way home we saw a deer eating beside the road and I got some pictures. It didn't seem very afraid at all.
