When I woke and looked out the window all was calm, the howling winds that had shook the van and stirred the ocean the night before.had subsided and transformed it into what appeared to be a huge millpond.
Leeman was my first stop as the gas bottle ran out during the night
On the way to Leeman some 50 odd kms down the road, I saw a sign pointing towards another secluded beach and decided to take a look, glad I did as there was a small beach and the dogs had a chance to have a run, as Cliff Head had only seaweed ankle deep and no beach.
The lady at the service station in Leeman was very friendly and gave me free maps of the area and suggestions of where to stay.
Then it was on to Green Head which had little to offer so I took a few more photos, had lunch and then continued on to Jurien Bay where I had intentions of staying but the caravan park was not worth staying in...for the price they ask!. This is a problem when there is no competition, they have the monopoly.
Curiosity does get the better of me and once again I found myself driving down a narrow track leading to...who knows where, I was hoping it would take me to a lovely secluded spot near the snow white beach where I could squat for a couple of days. After a couple of kms I realised that the track was narrowing very rapidly and trees and shrubs were giving the sides of the van a thrashing, one shrub flipped the side mirror and it was now facing inside the van and the dogs were freaking out at the noise and me? I was just freaking out
I am now in Cervantes caravan park for the night, I have had nice hot shower and washed my hair as it was feeling like straw after being washed in bore water all the time, I'm sure if you could turn me upside down... you could use me as a broom.
