There was a big storm Saturday afternoon so we stayed inside and watched both Kill Bill movies and an entertainment show called Wo Ai Hei Se Hui. It features one of the hottest groups in Taiwan right now, Hei Se Hui Mei Mei (they're like Morning Musume). Later, we went to Italy Milano because Mom and I had to try on dresses for photoshoot. Again there is mention of how I have big boobs but no waist. -_-;; I ended up picking a simple white dress and a poofy blue dress that kind of reminded me of Yukari's outfit in the end of Paradise Kiss but not as intricate with the flower details. In the evening, we went to Ximending, which is where all the college-aged kids are at. It vaguely resembles parts of Tokyo. I wanted to buy stuff from goth-punk shops but couldn't. T_T I also came across a big anime store that was hidden away in an alley. Next time I'm coming here with people my age because everybody around me was in a bad mood, which put me in a foul mood too.
I got up early Sunday morning and caught The Prince of Tennis on TV. We went back to Dan Shui, but this time we weren't staying overnight. Eric and I watched Why Why Love, a new drama featuring the main cast of Devil Beside You. I've only seen one episode so the plot is still lost on me (there's a girl who has a crush on a rich guy, but she winds up being the servant to his rebellious brother, who broke his legs), but the actors are great at comedy. One of my uncle's also came over, and he brought his daughter, Long Long. At 5 years old, she's the youngest of our generation and so cute! She didn't want to play with Eric and kept hiding behind her mom when he made faces at her. We ate too much for lunch so when we got back to Tucheng, we just ate shaved ice and bread for dinner.
Monday was the day of the photoshoot. It lasted from noon to 7 PM with some breaks and included time for hair and make-up. Since I've got hard contacts and twitchy eyes, it was hard to get the false eyelashes on me. They couldn't even put double eyelid tape, which just reinforces Mom's wish for me to get the surgery (especially since both my aunt and the make-up artist got it). Getting double eyelid surgery is like no big deal in Asia, and almost all the celebrities get it if they don't already have double eyelids. It was nice getting glammed up and being the focus of attention, but definitely no career in modelling for me. The photographer had a hard time getting me not to blink or look dead/fake. Hey, I can't help it if I don't like to smile. :p I don't know if the photog was new at this or didn't have many ideas, but she'd try to get me and Eric to do cutesy stuff that totally failed. After the shoot, we had dinner at Here Pasta. The risotto was good and there were cute waiters. ^_~
Today, we went to Taiwan's largest book store in Taipei. I forgot the name of it, but it took up 3 stories in the mall. Then we visited Dad's cousin. It was really hot and humid, and we had spent some time trying to find his apartment. We didn't have lunch until 2:30 PM because we were meeting up with 2 of my aunts at a hotel restaurant. I swear I was getting hypoglycemic near the end. :( I wound up eating way too much to make up for my hunger, but the dessert was worth it. Dipping firefruit (I think that's what it's called; it looks like a white kiwi) in the chocolate fountain was yummy! ^o^
