For Independence Day weekend, the NCKU (dad's college) alumni group took a trip to Arkansas.  It wasn't what I expected.  The bus ride felt like it took forever.  There was nothing to look at, and it didn't help that Eric and my friend Brian were being immature and obnoxious.  On the first day, we went to a town that seemed to revolve around religion.  Being a non-Christian and having friends that try to convert me, I wasn't too enthusiastic.  However, I wound up learning a lot of neat things.  The passion play was good although I found myself feeling kind of sorry for Pontius Pilate.  Maybe that's just the sympathetic devil's advocate in me.

The next day, we arrived at Hot Springs.  The duck tour was stupid because all we saw were people's lake houses (though it was a nice opportunity to do guy watching ^^).  The fireworks were disorganized but cool nonetheless.  I was hanging out with Brian and our friend Rebecca.  She and I were teasing Brian throughout the night.

Some of the families went to go to the bath houses yesterday.  We went with the group that went hiking.  I wound up exploring a trail by myself, which was nice.  There was a sense of peace just being alone in the woods.  Afterwards, we went shopping but didn't buy much besides some cool postcards.  Overall, this wasn't the exciting trip that I hoped it would be.  I guess with every awesome vacation, there's gotta be one or two busts.
