I used to say that I liked cosplaying alone, but that is definitely not true. Although I don't like being confined to a group, I enjoy myself more when I am cosplaying with outgoing people. On my own, I hesitate to make conversation, regardless of the language. Maybe it's better to say that I've always liked cosplaying with a group but I like taking pictures on my own (because I take more than most people and the camera is a wonderful tool to hide behind).
A good-sized group showed up for my "cosplay party": Rachelle, Phelia, Karmen, Rachel, Canon, and Jessica. I was worried that people would get bored with the event itself, but looking back, maybe we should've skipped the shopping around at Forus. Then again, I think people enjoyed the unique fashions.
We wasted a lot of time waiting for everyone and trying to find the cosplay store. Jessica had to jet off to take care of car inspection. Eventually we gave up and headed to the Sendai Cosplay Fire. Rachel, Canon, and I went to go change while the others wandered around and took pictures. Rachel was Sheska from Fullmetal Alchemist; Canon was Dino Chiavorone from Katekyo Hitman Reborn!; and I was Kyoya Hibari from Katekyo Hitman Reborn! Canon and I found fellow cosplayers from the same series and took pictures with them (see, there is an advantage to cosplaying popular characters). We were being loud, but we had fun. I did wish that I had a chance to take pictures of other cosplayers. I am so glad Canon and Rachel cosplayed with me. Many thanks to our photographers too (especially Phelia who was in charge of my camera).
Afterwards, we asked one of the people in charge if they knew where the cosplay store was. It turns out that the store I was thinking of didn't exist, but there was a store with cosplay goods and anime merchandise. There were 3 actually. We wandered into them, and I behaved for the most part. The Mukuro keychain was too cute to pass up, and like Canon said, my old keychain breaking is a sign that I need a new one. ^^ The last thing we did was get purikura, and by then, our group had dwindled to me, Karmen, Canon, and Rachel. It was a fun day, but the cold I was pretending to not have has gotten worse.
Looking at the photos, I look more like Takeshi Kondo, the voice actor for Hibari, than the character himself. Oh well, Kondo-san is really cute.
