First stop today the impressive upmarket Galleries LaFayette department store, first opened in 1895. Now it is situated on 3 corners housing a home store .. 5 floors.. a mens store.. 4 floors and the main store..mostly womens .. a whopping 10 floors! The designer names available are never ending... one rabbit pelt ladies bomber jacket retailed at 1000 euros! Jimmy Choo shoes for a mere 600 euros...the coffee shop with it's complimentary "Maxim's" chocolate was right for this shopper...Great to see the quality and variety of goods ringing through the tills... the Louis Vitton Xmas windows were like the brand.. unique and bold.
Lunch was at a typical french sidewalk cafe....baguettes crisp and tasty, atmosphere perfect..
Back to the metro for the longest railride so far (32 kms from city centre) .. to the outer suburbs and Disneyland & the Walt Disney Studio Park.
More than one afternoon /evening would be needed to really see all the attractions .. hence their own hotels on site. time will only permit the Disneyland walk around, and of course the "Parade & Fireworks " finale this time. Being winter the crowds are still more than anticipated but still move along smoothly. The parade never fails to delight, the retail stores are a buzz with excited children of all ages..Wandering around all the areas.. Fantasyland, Frontierland, Adventureland ,Discoveryland and Main Street you can't help but notice the quality ,presentation etc of all aspects.. the buildings, rides, cafes, aninmated statues, amenities etc, The grand finale around the Magic Kingdom castle using fireworks, laser projections, sound and lighting was amazing. What a fabulous way to finish the Paris leg of the journey.
