It's a wrap!!!
What an AMAZING trip. Bend was a great way to end it.
We started the day at Central Oregon Community College in front of a great art sculpture. Julie Speidel made "Full Circle" out of steel and paint and was completed September 2009. Standing in front of the sculpture, Amanda modeled a great maxi dress from the Studio Y "Modern Art" collection. The crew grabbed coffee to go then got back on the road.
Next we headed out of town to the residence of Roy and Jan Dwyer. A good friend of theirs, artist "Buffalo," created an amazing steel sculpture of a bear fishing salmon out of a stream. What a great and unique thing to have right in your own backyard! Buffalo was there to tell us the story and watch the shoot in action. The sculpture is called "Gone Fishing" and took him and two months to build. The bear weighs 4,000 lbs! It has even made local appearances in Bend at concerts and shows. Katie modeled a great palm print dress from the Wear @ Work "Natural Instincts" collection. The crew was having lots of fun, but we had to move on to the next shoot.
We headed to Tumalo State Park on the Deschutes River where we had a picnic lunch and set up for the next shot. Wow, was it windy! We had local fly fishermen Matt and Mike to be "props" in the background as Katie modeled more from Wear @ Work. Matt and Mike are fly fishing guides for Deschutes River Outfitters and said this was definitely not a usual day on the job! Once we rounded up the windblown crew, we headed to the last stop.
The Fun Farm near the outskirts of Bend was our final location of the trip. What a whacky place! The "farm" had a house full of old wigs, hats, dollhouses, antiques and knick-knacks and the yard was filled with bizare props and signs. Amanda shot a great Studio Y outfit in front of a tree made out of bowling balls. Then we went further on the farm to the heart-shaped goat racing track where she rocked some more great shots in front of the "Love" arch. After the photographer yelled "It's a wrap!" for the final time, we wandered around the farm taking pictures of the funny surroundings before loading up the bus to head back to the hotel.
Now we are going to head back to our rooms and relax before our wrap dinner tonight where we can celebrate the great week we've had and memories we've made. A huge thank you again to Meridian, MS; Moberly, MO; and Bend, OR for your great hospitality and for making the shoots so special. We can't wait to unveil the pictures in stores June 6th. We hope you have enjoyed the pictures we've been posting, and make sure to check out the videos from the week at
Thanks to all who followed our blog, stay tuned when we head out again in June to our next three cities!!!
