We arrived at foz do iguacu at around 5am and got in the first taxi that was willin to drop us at the border, but even better still, said he would take us to the airport in Argentina. A really trouble free border crossing was exactly what we needed and ensured we were on time for our flight to buenos aires. We paid a bit, but for security, I don't mind.

The flight was good and got us in with plenty of time to spare to have one last look around the city. We also still had jennys bag of knives to pick up from daves place. Two pretty expensive taxi rides and we were back in the centre of town, at an old hostel we stayed at who politely let us store all of our bags there for the day, freeing us up to go and get one last argentinian steak before we left this amazing country.

We went to the hostel's highest recommended steak house and when i ordered my go to bife de lomo, the waited convinced me otherwise and i ended up getting the ojo de bife which is apparently a better cut of meat. In short, it's not a better cut and it is probably on par with the bife de chorizo. Never again, but the quantity was outrageous, and i ate until i couldnt eat anymore.

A quick walk around the corner brough us to the artesinal market where jenny couldnt resist buyin a handbag, and i got myself a book written in spanish so i could practise when i leave.

We walked around plaza de mayo and casa rosada and then went to the congress building which i had passed on the bus a few times, and is handsdown the nicest building in buenos aires. We watched the cutest little girl get absolutely molested by pidgeons the second she bought the tonne of corn out to feed them. Highly amusing and even more so when some lady dropped her dog's collar and he had easy pickings to chase and bark at them.

I caught the second half of the belgium korea game in a cafe we went to, before we picked up our stuff and went to the airport. We maybe got a bit of bad karma after refusing to pay for the taxis return trip to town, but our plane was delayed. The time of the delay was unknown, and when we started getting fed piecemeal information, we realised the plane wasnt actually leaving until 3pm tomorrow.

Being early to the airport was a blessing as we were first to get to the information desk, to see if we could get on a different flight to get us back to nyc on time. We met a guy, Will, a musician from NYC who was in the same position as us, so we teamed up (his gf was argeninian which helped immensely) We waited, put our names on a list, and waited, and got told to wait so we waited some more, until at the very last minute, got told that the 3 of us had just taken the last 3 spots on the plane.

Off to miami we go!
