Hey everyone... flew last night to the island of Java in Indo to the famed, wild city of Jakarta. My first impressions of the city dispelled any prejudged notions that this was a backwards town. Its quite modern, and having stayed near the shopping district last night, I can attest that its about as new and available as any other Asian city. Overall I am enjoying it. Im off tomorrow to the more touristic places near Jogjakarta. In the meantime, I will look for the famed Obama Cafe located in the house where Obama was said to have spent his youth while in Indo. I plan to light a candle there. Thats it, short entry today, not much to say for once.
