Well, looks like another lost day in the former British capital. Suvarnabhumi Airport is still a mess, and there doesn't seem to be any immediate hope for a resolution since the army is complacent about it and these thai people are PISSED. This means two things for me: 1) I will have to forfeit $194 (grrrr) and 2) wait until Monday to catch a reasonably priced air ticket to Asia's other favorite commercial hub........ Singapore!!! (thank you cousin Gina) Yes, it turns out that Air Singapore flies directly out of this godforsaken city a few times a week for the lucky souls that can escape the noise, the pollution, and the bothersome pleas from humanity's most helpless (but lets face it, Im on vacation, I have no time for this anymore).
So looks like I'll be sitting tight for the rest of the weekend. It also means I will have to re-engineer my trip a bit and explore other parts of SE Asia and also maybe head to Australia early in anticipation of the great NZ trip ahead with "the bear".
For now, I will re-check into my hotel, buy another book, and keep drinking Lavazza espressos (Im quite sick of chai) to pass the time. Also, using the internet helps pass the time somewhat cheaply.
