What can i say about Ilha Grande.... the start of a true love story and utter paradise. Its Brazils third largest island has tropical scenery and covered in lush forest and gorgeous beaches. There are no cars there and no banks and is a realxing heaven.

Fran tells her mum she is coming the same morning lol and we set off with some other people from my guesthouse. Even on the ferry ride to the ilsand you start to settle straight into the scenery. We arrive on a small pier with clear water, the sun shining, a small beach and palm trees in the background.

We have a great family run hostel and a private room. Mario the owner is wicked and makes barbecues for us. Over the next 4 days we eat shrimps on the beach at night, drink caprinas and beer, manage to find a club! and visit other white sanded beaches and ....start to fall for each other.  We had such a laugh, always joking, talking and laughing and having an amazing time.. even when it rained 1 day and we did nothing.

We met our friends Jodie, Sam and Vicky from Rio who had gone there before us. Jodie managed to one day get us on a daytime booze cruize with the GAP adventures group.  It was a caprina tour (strong lime drink here). It was brilliant.. it was all you can drink from 10am and a big barbie on the boat.  They took us too the blue laggon a stunning cove of clear water , fish swimming around and warm water.  We had music blaring and there was a party in full swing, they even chucke dus plastic containers of caprini as we danced in the water.. great day.

By the time the 4 days were up and we were leaving it felt like we had know each other for ages, and we both spoke of it. I was leaving for another place nearby and she had to go back... by the time the ferry got back we couldnt take splitting so we agreed that i would come back in 4 days after visiting Paratay... and im so glad i did..
