At first I felt sick about spending a large amount of my budget on a 4 day boat visit to the Galapogos Islands... after the first day it was clear i would of spent double easily!.. this is the most magical place i have ever been!
and also the best food ive had since leaving.

It was 12 people on a yacht for 4 days. The first day we went to the beach saw wild flamingos and whent snorkeling a sea lion kept coming up to us under the water and playing, I had a water proof camera and took a few snaps. In the evening we went up on deck to watch the sea lions chase flying fish around the boat, then we saw a shark swimming close to the boat!.

the lights were dimmed and i was speechless sea lion
sea lion
. The stars were like someone had painted them, ive never seen anything like it!..like th etruman show or something. The y we so clear you could see the milky way and all its dust, we lay on the deck while movinbg slowly and sea lions chasing the boat. If willy wonker had turned up i would not have been suprised... this place is like another dimension.

It really makes you feel like an insignificant blip in a massive universe..and if we ceased to exist..sod all would change!

following this one day we went snorkelling around one of the islands with a guide. A 2 meter shark swam under me, penguins, manta rays, star fish etc... absolutely amazing !

We sail overnight to reach new islands, amd on the last day we saw the 200 year old giant tortoises which was the main thing i wanted to see, and they are massive in real life. They have set up the Darwing center to help these great creatures. We met lonsome george the most famous tortosie in the worl, he is the last male of his kind and will not mate.. really sad.

I left the galapogos feeling really uplifted and very special and lucky to have experienced such an amazing place.
