I've never been a big fan of camping, probably due to being dragged to campsites around the country for 'proper' British Summer holidays, when I was younger - none of that Spanish package deal rubbish for us! So you can imagine how I felt this morning after sleeping on possibly the hardest floor going for a second night. That coupled with an early morning wake up call by a Kookaburra and Magpie, I wasn't feeling to happy!

Starting to regret coming on this trip, our saviour, Cassie, turned up. Cassie was a friend of Holly's sister, who conveniently owned another shack 5 minutes down the road. She could tell how depressed we all were, so we didn't have to be asked twice, when she invited us round to her place for the day!

Built on stilts in the middle of the bush, her Shack was everything we could have wanted 01. Carries 'Shack'

. Newly built, it was ultra modern and ultra cool, with a view you could die for. You could see why her parents bought this plot of land 3 years ago. To top it off, she even showed us her private slipway down to their private beach!

It was down at the beach where we tried our hands at squidding (fishing for Squid). Having never fished before - strange seeing as I live 5 minutes away from the sea, I got bored very quickly, well there's only so much tossing the line out and reeling it back in a man can take! Dan on the other hand was full of enthusiasm, and surprisingly still going strong 2 hours later. To his credit, he did finally catch one, even though it had now become pitch black outside. The catch of the day was duly cooked up and served for us to eat.

I'm not really a big fish fan, Prawns are ok, but that really is as far as it goes for me, but tonight I took, what I now know was the wrong decision, and tried a bit of the squid. Not overly impressed, I let the others finish the rest. I'm glad I did now, 3 days later I was in hospital! More about that in later travelpods!

Tuesday 21st December

Yep, what I now know, which I didn't at the time is that I'm quite allergic to squid 02. inside the shack

! Luckily I had only eaten the one piece, but this till made my body come up with a stinging nettle like rash. Covering parts of my body, it itched like mad, and kept me awake all night.

The itching and the rash hadn't really improved by the morning, so to take my mind off it, and to leave Cassie alone in piece, we decided to all walk to Wine Glass Bay, voted one of the most spectacular beaches in the world.

It took a good 2 hours of walking up and down tracks until we reached the top of the mountain, where, on arrival, we were rewarded with the view you see in the photo's above. After another hour walking down a very steep mountain, we hit the beach and collapsed onto our towels! This is what I had come to Australia for!

We decided to walk back a different way through the bush. Whilst walking along the track we saw our first wallabies (small kangaroo's), our first poisonous spider and to finish a snake! A bit different to a walk in Hockley Woods!

It was a really tough walk but well worth it, although I got a little sunburnt, it did take my mind off the itching that was rapidly covering all my body! I had enough of the tent, for tonight I slept on the very couch I refused to the first night, and believe it or not, I actually got over 2 hours of sleep that night!
