Rally Day 7: Samara - Ufa

It's 11 pm and its still light enough to see outside because we're so far north. The plan is to head out around 7 tomorrow and see how far we can get doing a full, hard day.
Today we made our way from Samara to our next stop in Ufa. It wasn't a very eventful day aside from hitting some major road construction for the first time. We arrived in Ufa and drove around the outskirts for a bit looking for our hotel and finally found it but it wasn't a great place and wasn't worth the money. As we were waiting around by the hotel a man (who turned out to be the former vice-mayor of Samara) and his son came over and the with the son translating for the father explained that Americans shouldn't stay at the place we were at and that they would show us a hotel. Across the street there was a hotel/Russian sauna place that was pretty cool and not too expensive so we settled there for the night. After we checked in the man and his son came back with a jar full of honey as a gift for us and we gave them some Drive4Sight sunglasses in return. Very, very nice people here and the neighborhood we're in is full of nice houses with interesting little architectural quirks that were detailed by Steve Wilcox during a little tour of the neighborhood.
