We decided it would be worth it to take a daytrip to Venice...a 4 hour ride by train each way on a Saturday. I had heard so many horrible things about Venice so my expectations were extremely low. When we stepped off the train i was excited to explore the city. No cars, not too many people on this saturdy in February and plenty of water. I guess I love any place with this much water. I loved Venice, the horrible smells i had heard about were absent, the monster crowds were dwindled down to normal tourist sized crowds, the water filled with trash was clean and turqouise....was this the same Venice i had heard about? Yeah...probably.....but we picked the right day to go and I loved it!
