Zurich was an amazing place. The town sits right on a lake with a very nice river running through it. We arrived at the Hotel St George around 6am after driving about 7 hrs from Paris in a horrible storm. I got about an hour or so sleep as the van was swerving and the drive was hectic. I got up to my room and layed down on the cot sized bed and went to sleep.
Woke up around 1 pm caught up on some work and went for a walk around the city. Zurich is incredible. Sitting on a giant lake surrounded by mountains. It was refreshing to see a quiet town with people walking dogs and just going about their business.
Speaking of business.....Pistol was just about to find out that he had been kicked off the tour. I think the drive from Paris to Zurich was the final nail in Pistol's coffin. We had 1 daty off in Zurich so we all went out and had dinner and ended up at a pub drinkin whiskey, smoking cigars and watching football (soccer). And then Pistol came thru the door guns a blazin' and very pissed off. We sat him down and bought him a few drinks and told him it wasnt personal....it helped a little bit. We ended the evening at the weirdest bar i had ever been to in my life. I dont remember the name or the location..all i remember is the place was filled with hookers and the greatest female phillipino german band i'd ever seen.
Pistol made his way out with a you lady, which we were all glad to see...but we werent interested at all. We just kept yelling out requests to the crazy band. The next day was tough...really bad hangovers and the send off of Pistol Pete Head. We would miss him actually, but not his driving.... The show in Zurich was fantastic..Plenty of Spill fans came out to the venue. After the show, we piled in the van and started our trip to Italy. A new driver, a new attitude but the same long uncomfortable drive. Long live Pistol Pete!!!! More thumbnails ...
