This morning we woke up to the Merced River and the sunlight. It was absolutely wonderful. We ate breakfast and headed over to the Mariposa Grove to see the giant sequoia trees. There was too much more to the grove except for the massive size of the trees. After the grove, we drove to the visitor's center and ate lunch. We went to the store and shops all along the part of the park by the visitor’s center. It’s like a small town. It has a post office, food court, and a theater. We walked down to the lower falls of Yosemite falls. The waterfall is from snow melt and is the tallest waterfall in America. It stands at half a mile high! We climbed on the rocks at the base of the falls and saw the pool that sat at its base. After climbing around, we headed to the movie theater to see Returning to Balance: A Climber’s Journey. It was an award-winning documentary about rock climbing and the star of the film was there. It was okay, just not what I expected. On our way out of the park, we stopped at El Capitan to see the climber's headlamps. It was awesome seeing people 1500 feet up on the mountain! When we returned to camp, we sat outside for a little while to admire the stars. Without any lights, you can see all kinds of stars, it's beautiful.
