This morning we woke up to hear a 4-year-old screaming and crying at 5:30 am. This continued on until we were up at 8 am. We were not happy. Once we were awake, we ate breakfast and packed up camp. We drove to the local store to buy bread and a bottle of water. We picked up some information about the park and headed off to the trailhead. Before going up the trail, we ate sandwiches and chips. The trail we hiked was the 4-mile trail. The trail is 4.6 miles one way. It took us about two and a half hours to hike up, and the views were spectacular! At the end of the trail, we could see Half Dome. Hopefully, we will get the permit to hike it. At the top, people were being complete idiots by taking pictures on rocks that were passed the railings. It made me nervous because if they slip they will die. I guess that's just natural selection at its finest. At the top, we were taking pictures and a thunderstorm came rolling in. Just as the storm came in we all felt a static charge that raised the hair on our heads and arms up. So, we got the hell out of dodge. We didn't want to get struck by lightning. On the way down, we were hiking very quickly. We passed a guy that looked like a chef from the travel channel. We carried on our way for maybe 50 feet until he caught up with us. So, we started talking to pass the time and come to find out it was Guy Fiettei! He was with his family just getting away from the house. We got to meet a real-life celebrity, and he was awesome (not a terrible person). Once down from the mountain, we called our parents to tell them the news. We drove to our campsite where we set up camp and ate dinner. Our site is by June River just outside of Yosemite and its nice and quiet. Maybe we will get some sleep tonight.
