So after we had set up our tent in Sisco I briefly said hello to a French couple who were sitting outside their camping van. that night i did the same, and in the morning we chatted about our plans the day (they were packing up as well). I casually mentioned going to bastia and they offered to drop us there since they had to drive through the city on the way to other side of Cap Corse. Since Jacquie and I didn't really care where we went, and she sure as hell didn't want to get on a bus anytime soon, we actually got a ride all the way to St. Florent where we went to the same camp site! they were kind of like our Corsican parents, we ended up taking a bottle of wine over to their camper after we got back from our (delicious) dinner. we got pretty drunk and talked about french politics, farmers, the lack of work ethic in corsica, and cheese (they made me try a very strong camembert that they had brought from home). all the conversation was in french - it's a good thing wine makes my french flow a lot easier! they invited us over for breakfast the next morning (which we accepted - there's only so much nutella a man can take!) and also to drive us to the bus (a 45 minute walk, without packs!). i'm telling you, those two saved us so much time and agony over those two days - i just couldn't thank them enough. they gave me their email address and told us that if we're ever in Normandy to definitly drop by for a night or two. I don't know when I'll make it up there, but it's nice to receive an offer like that!
