Took the night bus down to Selcuk to see the ruins of Ephesus a ruinded city of ancient Anatolia. After finding a nice little pension, which after we went in and asked the owner how much and took a look at the room, he almost started crying when we left, the price was right, but we just wanted to see another place, but we are both softies at heart and went back to stay at his pension.
Unsure of what the weather would do the next day, we headed off to Ephesus even though the weather was a little bleak. The afternoon had brought the multitudes of tour groups, being sheparded around the sites by their guides, however, we were still able to enjoy the ruins, and get photos when they cleared off.
Missed the terrace houses as the admission was a further 10 Lira, after we had already paid that same amount to get in.....but we later made up with that with the displays at the Selcuk museum which were great.
The facade of the Library, see pics, was the main attraction, and the ampitheatre was a close second.
We are still ever entertained watching the Korean tourists, who just have something about them a strange familiarity to us......and had to hold back singing out Adjumma or Adosshi.....bali wah!...(mam, sir hurry up......when they fell behind their group).
We had our first Kofte in Selcuk....little meatballs in a kebab, quite tasty.
Next stop Pamukkale.
