We got into Cork an hour late but the scenery on the way was great, well worth the trip and very green.
We quickly found a BB where we throw our bags and caught another bus to blarney castle, one of Ireland's most famous castle and home to the blarney stone which if kissed would give you the power of an amazing vocab. As that was something which I thought I could use we headed off ASAP, plus the sky was blue and we had to take advantage of that!
After getting two concession tickets, me a student and my mother a SENIOR we were allowed into the grounds. The grounds were great, well looked after and very green! However as the pics show the castle was amazing, Christina had never seen anything like it and just keep going on about having to get up to the top, "is there a lift"?
After finding no lift we worked our way up to very slowly and was welcomed with an amazing view of rolling green hills, sheep and a killer wind chill
We woke up to very Grey skies nevertheless we had more castles to see Cashal and Cahir. So we headed to the bus station and paid 40 euro for a return trip that would take 1.5 hours - after 8 months in developing countries these prices are just unbelievable but Mum doesn't seem to care or hasn't figured out the exchange rate
Anyway as mentioned we saw two castles and both were great. The first Cashal, was on a hill over looking the city and it was pissing down rain and was blowing a gail - it was really good castle weather more so as the castle was falling down around us - however it all got a bit too windy and we had too leave a bit early.
The second castle was a lot smaller and more preserved and after walking around for a while we did our usual routine and headed off to the pub as we waited for the very expensive bus to pick us up.
