Small villages are meant to be quiet and relaxing and to be honest it was but when the bloody monsoon rains decide to turn up and pour for half the day a small village is not the best place to be.

However, on a happy note our $15 splurge room (it was the only options, i'm not going soft) had hot water, our first on our trip!! While nice I think you get used to cold water especially in a tropical climate like Bali.

As mentioned before nic ear had some problems so we had to head back to civilisation, which in Bal unfortunalty means Kuta, to see a doc.

However, this time we were determined not be ripped off regarding transport and decided to travel like locals. This meant traveling in small minivans called 'bemos' from village to village. We still got the whitie price i.e. 50% more but when you're only paying $1.50 for an hours ride you can't complain. Plus we got to talk to the locals (where are you from... etc)

We got to kuta for about 1/2 the cost of a taxi and as we knew the place went straight to the best (cheapest) hotel (guesthouse). As a bonus we watched the wallibies 'somehow' beat those dirty sheep shaggers from NZ.
