How great it was to hook up with friends again! After a flight to Barcelona, a quick overnight, another flight to Pisa the next day followed by a train ride Amy and I arrived in Siena where Monson and Dana Tseng surprised us by picking us up at the train station. It was so great to see them and had a wonderful time of fellowship over the next few days.
We started our time in Siena where we stayed in a two bedroom villa on a vineyard a few miles outside of the town. It was extremely beautiful and there was a full spectrum of colors as the leaves were changing all over. We spent our first couple days wandering around Siena as we talked and ate lots of italian food. We also explored a couple other smaller towns in the area, did some winetasting and made a side trip to Florence where Amy and Dana visited the David while Monson and I climbed the Duomo to take in the view. We then moved on to a small town in the countryside called Spoleto, which was situated in the hills and had an amazing fortress on a hill that we were able to tour.
Overall we had a amazing time with our friends and were very thankful that they wanted to fit us in as part of their longer trip to Italy. We know we will always remember these great fellowship times we had just hanging out and talking, having some amazing meals together, taking in the sights, and Monson and I smoking some stogies!
