Food in Uruguay is as weird as it gets. Tempted by all the tales about local "Parrillada", a mix of ox parts of every kind, we took no time to find a restaurant that served the delicacy. Helped by a bottle of good wine and a few beers, we manage to get the ugly-looking meat parts down our throat: chinchulines, riņones and the like were no match for Daniel's and Igor's appetite; the rest of us took it lightly, not managing to (or not wanting to) decipher what was on our plates.
By nightfall, we walked around central Montevideo, had a couple of beers in a pub, tended by a girl who had a striking resemblance to Wynona Ryder ("I wanna Rider", in Daniel's words). Lovely, indeed.
And yes, I did wake up screaming in the middle of the night after eating Parrillada. Thankfully, no one woke up in the hostel - besides my roommates...
