So tomorrow is my last day in Mallorca. I can't believe that within the next 36 hours I'll be on my looong (19 hour) way home! Anyway, yesterday (Saturday), I went to Cala Deia, this really gorgeous pebble beach at the north of the island with Aina and Miguel. We couldn't have asked for any better weather, and we spent several hours lounging in the sun and practicing juggling rocks. After that, we went to a "mirador" near Douglas-Zeta-Jones compound that gave an inCREDIBLE view of the sunset, and we made "trampò" (sliced tomatoes, onions, and peppers on Mallorcan bread)as we watched the sun melt into the horizon. As it began to get dark, we made our way back to Santa María to shower and get ready to go to the concert in Son Serra, in the northeast of the island. We didn't get there until around one, because there was a ridiculous amount of traffic (pretty much the whole island turned out for the event), and I hung out with Miguel's friends on the beach, listening to music until sunrise. At that point we were very ready to head back home and sleep for a really long time.
This afternoon, I helped Miguel's mom with some computer issues in a small attempt to repay her generosity in housing and feeding me this past week, and Aina, Miguel, his friend Montse, and I hung out by the pool. When Montse went home, we headed to Festival Park, which is this really cool outdoor mall, to watch The Lake House, which, despite being a Keanu Reeves-Sandra Bullock chick-flick vehicle, was actually a pretty entertaining film. At that point we had some bocatines (little sandwiches) at a fast-food tapas place, and Miguel and I decided we're definitely going to open a place like that back in the states some day. It'll be called Taberna Mikel, and another, Taberna Mateu, and we'll get even richer off them than we will off the proceeds from our award winning novels (yet to be published/written). Soooo...that's the plan...but for tomorrow (mi última día en Mallorca) I'm going to the beach with Josep while Miguel works and then we're going to rent Saw, which Miguel insists I have to see immediately. And I leave for home at 7am on Tuesday, to arrive in Huntsville at approximately 6am on Wednesday, Mallorcan time. Oh that's going to be a fun ride! Well, that's all he wrote.
And then this,
Matt (and his name) (And that...) (and that...) (And that...) (and that...) x ∞
