So for the past two days we have been in Amsterdam, and ever since I woke up on Thursday morning in Brugge, I have had the worst sore throat of my life. I got some over-the-counter stuff in Brugge, but after a restless night Thursday, I got up early and went to a "tourist doctor" here in Amsterdam. After a little bit of antibiotics and staying in pretty much all day yesterday, I'm feeling MUUUUCH better, and am hoping to be back to 100% by the time we get to Prague.

Anywho, though sickly I did get to see a considerable amount of the city--especially as my search for the doctor's office yesterday took me clear across the northeastern portion of the city. I got to see the many canals, old churches, bars, and interact (read: hassle for directions) with a lot of the locals. On Thursday night we even tried some Indonesian cuisine for dinner, which I had never had, and Jon assures me was inCREdible, though I didn't enjoy it too much as it really hurt to swallow Anne Frank Monument

. Actually, I may get Jon to update this later and tell a bit more about what they did yesterday, the things they saw, as most of what I saw was the opening world cup defeat of Costa Rica by host Germany, "Lost", and some old "Friends" episodes on TV. Did i mention our room has a TV?! Whoa, yeah I chose the right time to get sick, since we couldn't get any cheap hostels here in advance and had to pay quite a bit extra to stay in our own little two bedroom garden house, which was great for my convalescence yesterday. We're definitely going to try and book our reservations further in advance from now on though.

Anyway, we just went to the Anne Frank house here, though Jill and I didn't go on the tour and are currently waiting on Jon and Kelly to go to the Van Gogh Museum. After that, we'll grab some dinner, retrieve our packs from storage, and head to the train station to take an overnight train to Munich. I'll soon see if it's worth the extra 17 euros to get a bed instead of a reclining chair...

Well, till then, and I hope I can find another computer that lets me upload pictures, cuz we've got some great ones.

Ciao for now,

Matt
