Only an hour or so down the road from Rainbow Beach is the small town of Noosa. The sun was shining and we were still buzzing from the night before. We decided that kayaking on the river was the order of the day but no sooner had we sat down on the river did tiredness set in and we could no longer be bothered to paddle. We only actually paddled maybe 20 metres up river before the current took us back down. Other than that, we just sat in the middle of the river talking before getting marooned on a sand bar!! We chased pelicans, Rob crashed into a boat with two girls fishing, apparently by accident, and Dave was encircled by two Aussie guys in a speed boat so all in all it was quite eventful considering we made little, if any, effort!!
Mike was supposedly hitching north the day we left Rainbow Beach but he ended up in Noosa with us. Two Germans had picked him up and drove the whole way down the coast in a 4x4, totally in breach of their rental agreement but they made it a lot quicker than we did!!
The weather had turned sour so the following day was a waste as we had planned to visit the national park. So instead, that afternoon we went to see Batman Begins at the local cinema. The next day we left for Brisbane hoping for a break in the weather!!
