With our new bike the city seems a lot smaller!
We finally found Changwon House after many of our children told us to check it out. It is the perfect time as spring is definitely in the air in Changwon-si and the cherry blossoms are in bloom and are even starting to show their delicate petals.
Changwon house is a cultural treasure as it is an historic traditional meeting place used for hundreds of years as a place for Changwon to host gatherings of all kinds from festivals and war-time peace talks and negotiations to what it is still used for today: weddings!
Whenever anyone hears the wonderful news of our impending union, they insist it be done at Changwon house
As you can see in the photos, the gowns are less then flattering, and would be even less so on Matt and I as I imagine. On this day, a waygookin (foreigner) and a Korean woman were being married, while another bride took pictures and awaited her special moment. It is always a busy Saturday at the house as parties wait for their time slot during the day.
Though a tempting(?) idea, I think Matt and I came too far away to escape the traditional ceremony to choose another one in a language we cannot understand! So, we are still looking for our magic spot, I think the new bike will give us the wings we need to find what we are looking for!
Cheers all!

Biggest. Chicken. Ever.
! Here you can be married for free in traditional Korean style with the bride hidden during the ceremony by an ornate cloth up to her eyes, and two chickens on the table! Yes chickens! Well actually it is one chicken and a rooster, a symbol of a productive and fruitful union. As you can see in the photos, the gowns are less then flattering, and would be even less so on Matt and I as I imagine.
