Mm mm our new barbecue!
welcome to the wonderful world of Korean barbecue....So, we had Korean barbecue before we even left Canada and we had already fallen in love with it. At first, we enjoyed it a restaurants quite often. Now, we've found a delicious, healthy, and cheap way to enjoy the best Korean cuisine has to offer. Inexpensive itself, the barbecue is a good size, costs pennies to run on cans of butane, is a breeze to clean...and it makes such delicious food. We start with marinated beef, pork, or chicken (or combinations)....throw in some sliced garlic, hot green chilli peppers, 2 kinds of mushrooms, fresh lettuce (3 kinds), onions, and, of course, oodles of kimchee, and you have one hell of a tasty and healthy spread. This stuff is so yummy, we've had it almost every night since we bought the thing. All of the ingredients (minus the meat) can be found cheaply at the large marketplace conveniently located beside our building.....and as long as we stick mainly to pork and chicken, the meat is just as cheap....(beef is ridiculously expensive here....about 10-15 times as expensive as pork)
so, we've fallen in love with the Korean barbecue....it's perfect for that yummy. romantic dinner for two....we love it because we can cook with leaner meat than the restaurants use (cheaper though) and put our own western touches like Heinz 57 marinade, putting peppers on the grill, and frying the garlic...mmm mmmmm....
I sure hope we can manage to find a barbecue like this when we get back home....oh, and make our own kimchee ;-)

Trust in the Matt
Trust in the Matt to make a whole first post dedicated to meat. Some things never change. At least he has his priorities straight.
PS - Matt is a dork.
