1st Dispatch of the season confirms the roster of those participating in this years expedition - and this has just been released.

I will be joining people from all around the world who are coming together to form a team with one common shared objective - to reach our personal summit goal!

In our team there are 25 climbers including the team leader, supported by 14 climbing and high altitude sherpa's, plus chefs etc. In addition to this support there will be the Yaks and their staff to haul the gear up the Advanced Base Camp, and earlier in the trip there will be the road crew to support the journey from Kathmandu into Base Camp in Tibet. Add a few chinese agents to facilitate the crossing and oversee our trip through to Everest and we have our team.

This is truly an international team with countries of origin including: Netherlands, Denmark, Australia, Mauritius, Sweden, Iceland, Switzerland, China, US, UK, Israel, Romania, and Nepal.

5 of the team are scheduled to summit at Advanced Base Camp, 4 scheduled to summit on the North Col with the remainder planning to go the distance.

This looks like one of the largest teams Northside this year and will make for a great atmosphere, safety in numbers and all that. I am very much looking forward to learning much about myself and others during this trip.

7 teams representing approx 90 climbers plus 125 sherpa' will assemble on the North side of Everest in Tibet (includes me). On the South side however, there will be 47 teams representing circa 500 climbers and 700 sherpa's. WOW. What a difference! With approx 12 days of summit opportunity the South side is going to be very busy with all those people. We hope to have a great time North side!

The count down has begun...
