Even before arriving in Delhi I already felt that I was in India as there was almost exclusively Indians on the flights anyways. And I tell you the Indian passengers never listen: "We would like to board passengers who have difficulty or have small children first". At this point all the passengers stand up and rush the gate.
It only got worse when I arrived in Delhi. That airport was pure chaos when I arrived but then I came to the sudden conclusion that it was always like this. The automatic weapons that the soldiers were carrying at the ready did little to ease my mind. The pollution was worse than I remembered too.
For some strange reason I even felt very relieved when I saw my bag finally on the luggage carousel. After 45 minutes of waiting I had almost given up hope.
I was only in Delhi for 7 hours and during that time I witnessed one verbal-turned-pushing-and-shoving altercation that everyone just stood and watched (including the armed guards). During my brief stay there there was also an earthquake. Yeah, an earthquake. Suddenly the ground was shaking then the ceiling started to sway (the ceiling is not very securely fastened to put it lightly).
I felt more at ease when I boarded the plane to Kathmandu.
