Day Three
This was a really short day, setting off at around 9 and finishing at around 4:30 - starting off with the spectacular Laguna Colorada - a deep red lake with rich green shores and hundreds of pink flamingos feeding on the plankton rich water. Upon leaving the lagoon the landscape quickly changed to pure desert as far as the eye could see before we stopped at some 'interesting' rock formations. We don't get too impressed by rocks to be honest but still took all the obligatory photos!
Our third night we arrived at what could almost be called a town. The hostel was pretty cosy and actually warm. There was a school nearby and we went over to have a nosey at their lessons. The teacher didn't seem to mind! After school was over Matt got involved in a bit of football with the locales. He doesn't know if his team talk was understood but it seemed to do the trick as his side was winning comfortably before Matt had to leave the pitch out of breath and coughing up blood. It turned out to be nothing more serious that a nose bleed from a combination of the altitude and the exertion!
