Hoi An's a great little place. The old town is quaint and picturesque with a nice market leading to a pleasant riverside with lots of good cheap restaurants lining the streets. There's also a nice beach a short scenic bike ride away.

We stay at a really nice hotel with a swimming pool. A real luxury for us, but still only $15 US dollars a night for the both of us. We have a well earned lazy day, reading and swimming in the pool. Then enjoy some cheap beer and a good meal next to the river in the evening.

Hoi An is also renowned for it's cheap tailors that can copy any clothes design you throw at them. I get a tailored suite made and Sarah a dress. One day we cycle to the beach and I have a surf. I forget I have my prescription sunglasses on (don't ask me why?) and they are lost to the South China Sea. Luckily they can also copy prescription's here and I buy a new pair of prescription sun glasses for about 15 quid. Maybe I should have stocked up on them!
