At night we were transportd by a cart and a horse pulling it, but others people climb on the cart, these people knew the family we had to encounter. So they descent from the cart really close to the house and went with us. They talked to the sister of malik who welcomed us and presented everybody. We were tired so we went to sleep early.
The day after they were so nice that they brought us breakfast in our room which was a little room made with wooden branches ( the roof). For them the sugar is very expensive and they traffics of it at the border of gambia because it is sold cheaper than in sénégal so some people trade it. But they gave us coffee, bread, butter and sugar. We decided to eat outside because outside there were animation, there were indeed all the kids (about 10), animals(a donkey, a horse, ducks, chickens and sheeps). We spent the time there talking with the family, helpig them in their evreryday duties and it was nice.
The afternoon the father took us to the fields of crops that they grew. Mango trees, peanuts trees, and hibiscus were growing in this field and these people lived from that.
I think it was enriching to share the lives of people of sénégal who hadn't no money and were very nice with us. We could understand better what were their real problems because we often think that they are not happy but most are. I played with the kids with a broken pail and earth and they loved it. The real problem is that they have resources but they don't exploit it well.
We finish that day wtching tv with all the village because there is only one tv and they watch a serie.
