We left our comfortable Norfolk B&B and headed south toward Kent. Our first stop was the Royal Horticultural Society garden at Hyde Hall just out of Chelmsford. This garden was beautifully kept, there were people tending the gardens everywhere we went and there was even an Australia and New Zealand garden. From here we carried on, skirting London and calling in on Sevenoaks for lunch - reminiscing about our visit 12 years ago when Peter and Jane were there and Sarah was on her gap year.
"Susie" overshot the mark slightly today, only taking us about 10 miles passed where we should be - probably more about my entry though. Generally though she is pretty amazing, even providing us with digital road signs! Anyhow, we made it to our B&B in Chilham, an over 500 year old dwelling with low ceilings, half timbered interior walls and many antiques - originally being a guesthouse for pilgrims on route to Canterbury
After dinner we wandered up the road to see the village square, the street leading to it was lined with half timber houses. As we walked slowly up the street taking photos, I could hear some very old English music and thought someone was very traditional in their music taste, then - low and behold as we rounded a bend in the road, there ahead of us were Morris dancers!
