Flossie Fizzled

We woke up to the remnants of Tropical Storm Flossie, as she was exiting Hawaii.  One of the pineapple plants had been uprooted, but other than that, we did not see or hear from Flossie.  It was raining on and off so we decided to try the south shore of Kauai, as it is usually sunny most of the time.
We visited Poipu Park Beach in Poipu in the morning.  Heavy surf warnings made for some of the beach being closed.  The conditions made snorkeling difficult, so we spent time as this beach swimming and sunning.
After lunch, we headed back to the North Shore.  We decided to visit Moloa'a which is where we stayed in 1998 - 15 years ago!  It is a secluded bay where Gilligan's Island was filmed.  We pretty much had the beach to ourselves.  Again it was rough so snorkeling was out, but the beach itself is beautiful and we enjoyed swimming there.  We hope to visit the beach again during our trip, this time allowing us to snorkel.  We spent the day relaxing, as both beaches had teal seas, waves and warm water.
We returned home to cocktails, and had dinner in Hanalei at Tropical Tacos, where we love their fish tacos!  It was a slow and relaxing day.  All of the forecasts said rain, so how did we all get sunburned today after the tropical storm??!!  #richpeopleproblems!!!
