While bob was working, I took a tour of Westminster Abbey with the tour group, London Walks.  There were about 20 of us in the tour.  They guide, who is a British attorney and rather funny, asked if there were any Americans in the group. When I raised my hand, he said to me "welcome home" and proceeded to say that to the Canadians, Australian and New Zealanders in the group!  We went into the history of the Abbey, which was started by the Benedictines in the 900s, and
the guide  asked if there were any Catholics in the group.  Again when I raised my hand, one other person was catholic, he leaned into me and said "this used to be yours"! It's was a little cold in the church, but was very interesting.  Saw the coronation chair which is being refurbished.  First used in the 1200s and has been used for every coronation since.  The church is very familiar since its where William and Kate married, as well as the funeral for prices Diana.   After the tour, I hit up the Abbey gift shop, and headed back to the hotel in hopes that bob was done with his work for the day.

I eventually met up with Bob and we walked around the neighborhood of Mayfair.  Tried to get into the One Running Footman pub for a pint but was too crowded!  Right across from the hotel is the Saudi embassy.  When we we left the hotel, a protest was starting.  About 60 middle Easterners were beginning a protest!  It got louder and louder and lasted over an hour! Another country another protest for us to witness!

The hotel recommended a Scottish restaurant in Belgravia, and then saw Wicked.  The costumes and sets were beautiful but I found it a little long and could not get into the storyline.  Guess I am too stuck to Judy garland!  But enjoyed Defying Gravity, but still like the Rachel/Kurt version on my iPod from Glee!

Tomorrow the weather is turning wet in the form of snow and rain.  We are planning on the Tower of London and the Churchill war rooms.  Will blog again then!
