Day 6 - no luggage still  Plitvice, Croatia

Daily call to the lost baggage and claim.  There is new news.. now they cant find the luggage at all.  Haa haa haa.  I really should just give up trying.

This morning, we visited the fish market.  The fish market had lots of fresh fish and squids!!!  We ended purchasing a jar of anchoy from an old lady for 25kn ($5).  She let us tried a sample (quite salty, never had it by itself).  There was a bucket of little fish buried in salt and we asked what ti was for.  She said it was also anchoy but not 'fillet' yet.  She took one and ripped its head off, putted out the fishgut and bone to show us how it was done.  J  It was quite cool and fishy.  SEE PICTURE AND VIDEO

On our way to the fish market, we dropped into a clothing shop (which I  don’t ever do even in Seattle let alone while traveling), but I thought it was time to give and up hoping that my luggage would arrive and buy some cloth of my own so I can return a brown dress/Ex-officio undie to Myra and a grey shirt and bra to April.

I ended up with a pink T shirt that says ‘Everyone needs a little love".  :P

For lunch, we decided to eat where the locals hung out and had a cevapcici sandwich (cheh-VAHP-chee-chee- minced meat formed into a sausage0link shape, then grilled).

18kn (Yummmmy).   SEE PICTURE

Then we are off to Plitvice national park of Croatia.  It took us about 2.5 hours.  It doesn’t take too long to get anywhere on the car since while I am ‘cruising’ at 130km/hr (about 106 mile/hr), I was still being passed by truckers.. Ayieeee… I forget how much I miss driving a manual car.

On the way to Plitvice, we saw faced area where military tanks sat.  There are also warning signs for minefield…  so we did not wonder from the freeway!

The place we are staying tonight is a family-run hotel (Knezevic Guest House).

Across the Guest house is a ski slope!!! With a little lodge that rent ski equipment!  Hmmm maybe have to come back one day to stay here for a ski vacation (although it only has one slope that has one green/blue run :P
