Like Holiday parties in the States, Bulgarians generally have Christmas banquets during the week before Christmas with their colleauges, usually at a restaurant. I was invited to 2 - on Thursday night I went to the banquet for the other school in Belitsa (there are 2,) where my friend Rosi works. It was really sweet to invite me, which they did basically because I had just agreed to have an English class for them one evening a week after the vacation. On Friday night was the banquet for my school. It was what you would expect in Bulgaria - salad served at 7:30, dinner at 10:30, dessert at 12:30, with lots of horo dancing in between.
