This weekend I took my first trip back 'home' to see my host family. What I've discovered is that the town of Belitsa definately feels like home in a way Kocherinovo never did, but while I have great friends in Belitsa I'll never have family like I do in Kocherinovo. The people here are great, but it's nothing like getting huge hugs from my Bulgarian baba and dyado (grandma and grandpa,) and hugs and kisses from the rest of the family when I came in the door. And having my own baby sister to cuddle with and sing English lullabyes to, and to chase around the yard with the other baby cousins. My excuse for visiting was the subor (събор in cyrillic,) the annual town festival, in neighboring Barakovo. Here are some pics from the weekend.
