I really miss the Kocherinovo family. Other than that, today was awesome. Dora, my counterpart, met me at the bus station in Belitsa, i sent her an SMS (text message) saying i was on my way. She's been really helpful so far, helping me move my stuff in, introducing me to some people and helping with initial shopping. I also like my apartment, which surprises me, I've been complaining to other B19s cause other people have places with multiple bedrooms and stuff. mine's about the size of a college dorm room with everything in one room, but it's kinda cozy. What i was worried most about was that it would be an oven during the summer, but it's not, at least not today. Belitsa so far is MUCH cooler than kocherinovo has been the last few weeks, which makes sense cause we're a bit higher in the mountains.
So I think i'm on my way to making friends and being really happy here, but you know these things take time. To make friends and form relationships. In a way it sucks, cuase it feels like repeating what i just did 2.5 months ago - move to a small town where i don't know anyone and don't speak the language. but at least this time it's for the long term. I'm going to change my strategy with Dora - in front of her friends i'll speak to her in Bulgarian. Today I was speaking English cause i want to help her practice, but i think that's why i was pretty much ignored. Her friends probably don't know i can speak Bulgarian at all. Right this moment i'm pretty bored. I think as summer goes on i'll go for walks in the evening and talk to people on the street and at a cafe and such, but not tonite i don't think. I don't know anyone yet really.
My next door neighbor has a 23 year old daughter, my age, how cool is that? hopefully i'll get to know her. her mom already invited me over na gosti - to go visiting - so i'll take them up on that offer. Dora introduced me to 2 of my neighbors today we saw while we were moving in. She is really a good counterpart
