Today some of the people who run PC Bulgaria TEFL came out to Kocherinovo and interviewed us about our permanent placement. Ahead of time we recieved descriptions of all the permanent sites: size of the school, size of the town, description of our class schedule, expectations of the school, stuff like that. No exact locations. During the interview we talked about my preferences (no language school; smaller town with a diverse population; Roma or Turkish minority.) We also talked about what I think the challenges will be, what I'm most excited about, ideas for secondary projects (like starting a school newspaper,) coping mechanisms while I'm at my site, mostly basic interview stuff. They take the school's needs into account first, but I heard from current volunteers that it's good to be specific in the interview, so I gave them a list of my top 10 sites from the descriptions. We find out our permanent site next Monday when we go to Dupnitsa, and we spend the last half of the week at our site with our future counterpart. I'm excited for that, but I feel like I should be more excited, like it's all happening so quickly I don't know what to think. It will be a big day.
