We had a special lunch at a Bavarian restaurant, "The Cuckoo". We enjoyed a delicious smorgasbord of food including soup, seafood, hot and cold dishes and a variety of continental cakes and desserts prepared in their own patisserie. Some of us had to join in a spot of yodelling with the staff, limbo game, bell playing time, and singing. We all had a great time. More pictures will follow.
Then we went to Phillip Island to see the Fairy penguin Parade. We were still full from lunch, but we had another full meal of lasagna, salad, and soup at this place. We were told not to take pictures because with all the flashings these little penguines would be blind, but I will include a picture from the website. We made our way to the beach to watch the world's smallest penguins emerge from the sea a few minutes after sunset (about 6:45 pm) and waddle up the beach to their nests, seemingly oblivious to hundreds of sightseers. The penguins are there year-round, but they arrive in large numbers in the summer when they are rearing their young.
