Bulgaria was sadly the country we stayed in the shortest but happened to be the cheapest - £3.50 for 3 beers, 3 hot chocolates and 3 soft drinks. Though, despite of the cheap prices, it was in much better shape than Romania. Before our night spent near the Turk border we stayed in a Orthodox Monastry in dormatories! It sat in a canyon, flanked either side by huge cliffs with a river running past. When I asked the head monk for a photo he even went away to put on his 'good robes' for it. They were very friendly. The next morning we ventured into the extensive caves in the surrounding cliffs. Then we headed out for a night bush campıng near the Turk border.
